Anyone that likes Fried Chicken knows you often get more chicken than side dishes to accompany a meal.

To help remedy this, I use my 2 quart slow cooker I got for $10 at Walgreens to make tasty Tomato Rice in a half hour.

You need one quart of milk, 6oz. of tomato paste, 1/3 stick of butter, 2 ½ cups of rice, 2 or 3 tablespoons of flour, about a table spoon of sugar, and a half teaspoon of black pepper.

While making the rice inside a Rice Cooker with a little extra water, inside your Slow Cooker blend in the milk, tomato paste, butter, flour, sugar, and black pepper as your waiting for the rice to finish.

After your able to get the cooked rice into the Slow Cooker, turn the Slow Cooker on High for a half hour while stirring it 1 or 2 times during this half hour. After this just turn the Slow Cooker to being warm, and if wanting to add a little more milk to it, be sure to stir the milk in while letting it stay warm for maybe 15 more minutes before using it. You might need to add a little more sugar to it too, but only add very little extra sugar because after proper warming the sugared flavor is brought out as being a very thorough blend.

After you’re finished cooking this side dish, you will have plenty of tomato rice to complement a fairly good sized Fried Chicken Dinner even as a complete substitute to mashed potatoes.
